Your privacy is important to us at RobotTrader
Last updated: January 9, 2025
RobotTrader is a decentralised, open-source software protocol for publishing and executing algorithmic trading strategies ("robots"). The protocol itself does not collect, process, or control personal data. Users interact directly with smart contracts deployed on public blockchains and retain custody of their own funds and private keys.
This Privacy Policy explains how RobotTrader, as an open-source project, approaches privacy and data protection.
This policy applies only to interactions with the RobotTrader protocol (smart contracts, code repositories, governance mechanisms).
It does not apply to independent third-party websites, applications, or services that provide interfaces to the protocol. Such services may collect personal data under their own privacy policies.
The RobotTrader protocol itself:
This information is transparent, permanent, and publicly visible on the blockchain.
Community-maintained websites or applications that provide user interfaces to RobotTrader may:
Such front-ends are operated by independent contributors. They are responsible for their own privacy notices and compliance with applicable law.
Users are responsible for the privacy and security of their own wallets, keys, and devices.
Users should review the privacy policies of any third-party front-ends, custodial wallets, or exchanges they use in connection with RobotTrader.
As all blockchain transactions are public, users should be aware that interactions with RobotTrader smart contracts are permanently visible and cannot be erased.
The RobotTrader DAO, a decentralised governance community, may manage protocol parameters.
The DAO does not process personal data beyond what is publicly available on the blockchain.
As RobotTrader is a decentralised protocol with no central operator, there is no transfer of personal data between jurisdictions by the protocol itself.
If you interact with a third-party service provider (for example, a hosted front-end), that provider may process data in accordance with local laws such as the EU GDPR, UK GDPR, or other regional frameworks.
RobotTrader smart contracts are open-source and publicly auditable.
The protocol itself cannot protect users from disclosing personal information on-chain.
Users should exercise caution and use privacy-enhancing tools (e.g., VPNs, privacy wallets) if desired.
As an open-source project, this Privacy Policy may be updated by community governance. Updates will be published in the official code repository and/or DAO governance proposals.
RobotTrader has no centralised operator or corporate office. Questions or feedback about this Privacy Policy can be raised in the community governance forum or DAO channels.
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, you are encouraged to contact us by email at legal@RobotTrader.
